Junkin For Joplin!

The auction for Junkin for Joplin (an auction to benefit the victims of the Joplin tornado) has been extended for a little while longer! There are many items that have NO bids so what are you waiting for?! There's everything from banners, to stories, to cookbooks and crafts. Quickie Contest Winners

First of all, before I announce my choice for host's pick, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that entered into this contest. When we started out, we knew it was different and we weren't really sure how it was going to go. I was completely blown away by how amazing the entries were, not to mention how many there are. You guys were so talented at expressing emotion, love, hate, sex, everything in so little words and I am in awe of you.

It was beyond difficult to choose just one favorite and we hope that you enjoyed writing for this contest and that it got you to be creative with your writing. We look forward to seeing what you all do in the future. (on that note, all entries are able to be posted wherever you choose now). Huge thank you to ImHereToReview for agreeing to host this with me. I could not have done it without her and she's amazing. Another huge thank you to our banner makers, ImHereToReview and I are banner-art-illiterate and you guys certainly outdid yourselves. All the banners are amazing.

Phew! After all that, I am happy to announce my choice for my host pick as "Silence is Golden" by Gasaway Alley. I was immediately drawn to the imagery in this story. I could feel it, smell it, see it and being a country girl myself, I loved the idea of the abandoned truck in the field. I was surprised I got so into it, since it was a Peter/Charlotte fic and I'd never really read one of those before so I knew instantly that it was one that was going to stick with me. Thank you for writing such a vivid story and congratulations! I hope you enjoy your banner.

I want to officially congratulate, itsjustme1217 (Robmusement) for their story, Once Upon A Dream as my host pick for their entry in The Quickie Contest.

If anyone knows me and my personal choice in stories, they know I’m looking for something sweet with a lemony twist. Ironically I ended up choosing one that wasn't an all out lemon. I think the author did an amazing job turning a dream into true reality. It was not easy choosing one story out of one hundred sixteen; but this one just stood out to me. There's no definined plot or gut wrenching twist, just a sweet, simple, little love story; and those typically end up being

my favorite.

I want to thank each and every author for their entries and participation in The Quickie Contest. Contest Underway!

We've officially opened our FF Quickie Contest!

I came up with this contest when I was thinking about how people choose to use their words and how different it would be to see what they would use if they only had 500 words to write. Sure, someone can ramble on for 5,000 words including me, but how would you make those 500 words count? Would you make your audience laugh, cry, reach for the hubby to have some fun? Once I had the idea I knew I had to do it, I just needed a partner in crime and I knew I could count on my Twitter Twin ImHereToReview!
